It is no secret that Xabi Alonso will not hesitate to shake things up when it comes to his starting line-up.

The new Real Madrid manager has already shown that reputation and status alone will not guarantee a place in his XI.

This time, new signing Franco Mastantuono is expected to begin on the bench. Instead, the coach could look to Rodrygo or Brahim Diaz as attacking options.

The decision not to start Mastantuono should not be mistaken as a lack of faith.

In fact, Alonso sees the youngster as an important part of the future, but he wants to introduce him step by step.
