Shop Tyla’s Pandora-Powered VMAs Jewelry Look
Yes, the MTV VMAs took our breath away last night with Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter’s masterful sheer looks; Doja Cat, Conan Gray, and Rebecca Black’s sky-high statement footwear; and Lady Gaga‘s four accolades, which she received while donning a gothic-inspired, ruffles-heavy Marc Jacobs gown. But one of the most striking jewelry moments came courtesy of Tyla, who clinched the trophy for the “Best Afrobeats Video” while dressing up her minidress with layered adornments that you (yes, you) can shop today.
The “Push 2 Start” singer went with a vintage dress from Chanel’s spring 1993 ready-to-wear collection, making its cream hue and delicate black stitching pop with an intentionally heavy-handed assortment of gold bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and a chain belt. The source of all these accoutrements? None other than Pandora’s Talisman collection, whose recently launched campaign is fronted by Tyla herself. Contrary to the Danish jewelry manufacturer typical emphasis on romantic, silver-and-gold charms, heart motifs, and traditional silhouettes, this release roots itself in ancient coin–inspired pieces (with many of them boasting Latin inscriptions, à la “amor fati,” which translates to “love of fate,” or “ad meliora,” which stands for “towards better things”).

We were able to spot the Crossing Arrows Oversized Medallion Charm as part of Tyla’s jewelry ensemble for the VMAs, which brought no shortage of symbolism while being attached to overlapping gold-link necklaces. Representing the idea that we should all be optimistic about our futures, the 14-karat gold-plated medallion is meant to reflect the light everyone carries inside themselves and therefore shine bright in every setting — whether you’re standing on the red carpet, blinded by camera flashes, or are simply going through a regular day on your own terms.
Featuring crossed arrows, moon-and-star engravings, and a cubic zirconia gem that’s as dainty as it is captivating, the charm is something you can and should buy in multiples, mirroring Tyla’s goddess-like getup (a trend spotlighted in the Pinterest Predicts report for 2025). Simply affix your fresh purchase to a Pandora necklace strand and let its textured appearance add dimension to all your early fall outfits.
Tyla also dolled up both of her wrists in a variety of Pandora bracelets — like the Small-Link Chain Bracelet — that served as a carte blanche for the Talisman collection’s shiny charms. Another key saying that appears on their backs (particularly, that of the Sun and Moon Medallion Charm) is “ad astra per aspera,” or “through hardships to the stars.” Given that Tyla is a Johannesburg-born 23-year-old who has already achieved this much star status, the sentiment couldn’t be more applicable.
It’s all in the details, as Tyla’s stacks of Pandora bracelets, charm-bedecked chain belt, and anklets made clear last night.

Interpreting fall 2025 runways’ animal print trend on a more literal level, Tyla also went with Pandora Talisman collection picks like the Swallow Medallion Charm and Lion Medallion Charm, representative of hope and bravery, respectively. And, speaking of trends, she was able to ace two more of them in a single evening — specifically, fashion insiders’ current chain belt obsession and the anklet trend that’s been going strong since the summer.
On one foot, Tyla sported charmed-up Pandora chains repurposed as ankle bracelets; on the other was a thin green anklet, bearing what looked like a gilded bauble in the shape of the African continent. It’s also important to mention that coin jewelry is, in and of itself, a popular choice among celebrities: Taylor Swift, for one, has frequently resorted to bronze, silver, and gold medallions as part of her game-day ‘fits and date-night equations.
Can’t wait to get started on your own Roman coin–based jewelry looks in the new season — spotlighting them during evenings on the town, at your nine-to-five, and whenever else you’re in need of amplifying outfits with some vintage flair?
