Dreams will be made Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin when the first round of the 2025 NFL draft gets underway, and it is expected to be a memorable night for a couple of former Penn State stars. Edge rusher Abdul Carter is widely expected to be among the first names called by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the draft podium and tight end Tyler Warren should not have to wait too long to hear his name announced either.

Where these two stars end up landing in the first round of the NFL draft is still anyone’s guess, including Carter as one of the top picks on the big board, but Penn State fans and football fans of all walks of life will be watching closely as NFL franchises make their decisions in the first round of the draft.

Start time: 8:00 p.m. ET

Last year at the NFL draft

Penn State is expected to have two first-round draft picks in the 2025 NFL draft. Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren are each regarded as the best at their respective positions and should be announced well before most may choose to go to bed. Penn State also had two first-round draft picks in the 2024 NFL draft with offensive tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu (no. 11, New York Jets) and Chop Robison (no. 21, Miami Dolphins) each being selected in the first round. Penn State had a total of eight players selected in the 2024 NFL draft.

Penn State also had two first-round draft picks in the 2021 NFL draft with Micah Parsons (no. 12, Dallas Cowboys) and Odafe Oweh (no. 31, Baltimore Ravens) being selected. Carter and Warren have an excellent chance to be the first pair of first-round picks for Penn State under James Franklin.
