Bob Mackie is bringing his signature Hollywood glamour style to the masses with an exclusive collection for JCPenney launching this week.

“At JCPenney, we’re redefining what it means to be iconic,” said Michelle Wlazlo, chief executive officer, of JCPenney, in a statement. “Partnering with the Bob Mackie brand allows us to merge the extraordinary with the everyday, offering customers runway-worthy fashion at unbeatable value. This collection is an invitation to say ‘yes’ to self-expression, glamour, and confidence, no matter who you are.”

The project is part of Penney’s new brand messaging, “Yes, JCPenney!”

This collection features an array of mini and long dresses crafted in velvets and shimmering ombré sequins, jewel-toned cocktail dresses with intricate beading and marabou feather accents and modern takes on classic silhouettes, like a sleeveless printed taffeta A-line, a halter jumpsuit with keyhole cutouts, and a sequin gown with ruched detailing. According to Penney’s, “each piece is thoughtfully designed with signature Mackie brand touches, from sculpted shoulders and dramatic front slits to vibrant color palettes and exquisite embellishments, delivering glamour, movement and sophistication for every special occasion.”

“This collection inspires confidence and happiness for anyone who loves fashion,” said Marc Schwarz, chief operating officer of Bob Mackie Design Group, in a statement. “With JCPenney, we’re giving every woman the chance to dress like an icon and dare to be noticed.”

Every piece in the collection is priced under $300 and available in sizes 2-24, furthering Penney’s commitment to inclusivity.

The Bob Mackie project is not the first time Penney’s has stepped out with a designer offering. In the ’80s, it paired with Halston and a collection, and years later teamed with Mary McFadden.

Mackie is well known for his flamboyant fashion and costume designs and has dressed the likes of Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Zendaya.
