Damson Madder Brings Its Slow-Living Ethos to Life — In a Cemetery

As Wednesday’s rain clouds cleared, Damson Madder transformed the New York Marble Cemetery into a chess competition cloaked in British styling cues. The London-based brand tapped Club Chess (a social chess club established by Alexander Luke Bahta and Corrine Ciani) for the casting and curation of the presentation, culminating in actual chess players donning its new Fall 2025 collection while competing in timed chess matches.

Titled “In the Slow Lane,” Damson Madder’s latest collection (and its first to be shown during New York Fashion Week) celebrates “the radical art of slowing down” as well as the importance of a “third place,” or a public place outside work and home for people to find community.

“Rooted in real-life connection and community-led experiences, ‘In The Slow Lane’ invites our audience to unplug from the digital noise and rediscover the joys of the offline world,” Founder Emma Hill told Fashionista over email.

The British label applied a utilitarian theme to its preppy staples by adding functional straps, ties and detachable tool-style belts to trousers and skirts. Outerwear especially shined with an olive-green bomber jacket, a cocoon-style coat and its fan-favorite puffers in new prints — complete with detachable hoods, tie details and a surprise detail: “We also have brand new patches inside all of the season’s outerwear featuring an embroidered ‘Damson Girl’ and a space for each proud owner to write their name,” Hill said.

In addition to a new burgundy satin colorway of its bowling bag, cold-weather accessories like striped gloves, a camo headscarf and knit earmuffs topped off the toasty looks.

The Fall 2025 collection is now available globally. See all the looks from Damson Madder’s Fall 2025 presentation, below.
