Agency Spotlight: Alexandra Benezra on Always Being Eager to Learn More

Alexandra Benezra, 32, launched her agency in 2021 after departing her PR job at Browns in London for maternity leave. “I thought it was the perfect time to take the leap and launch my own PR agency. I didn’t have any help and learned so much along the way, but had learned a lot from all of my previous jobs and some incredible mentors,” she tells Fashionista.

Her agency ASB PR — which Benezra self-funded — has offices in both Los Angeles and New York City. One of the keys to finding success and growth, says the PR pro, is to never stop being curious. “Always be eager to learn more. Even today, as founder of ASB PR, I’m still learning new things every day. It’s a tough and very competitive industry, and it’s also very important to remember that there’s space for everyone.”

She’s also a firm believer in the benefits of hiring smaller agencies for press support. “As a boutique PR agency, we are so close with our clients that we literally feel like we’re part of their team,” she says. “We always make sure that each one of our clients gets the best attention it deserves.”

Today, some of her clients include brands such as Oceanus, Bonbonwhims and Oseree — and she has even launched a fashion label of her own. With the goal to expand to more offices in Europe in the future, Benezra advises those in the field to never lose faith or self confidence: “There will be some client losses, but there will also be some major client wins. Be out there, meet new people and make sure to stay true to yourself.”
