Baldinger breaks down star performances from Parsons, Kraft and Nixon in Week 2

The Green Bay Packers received star performances from edge rusher Micah Parsons, tight end Tucker Kraft and cornerback Keisean Nixon during Thursday night’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders to open Week 2.

Parsons beat all imaginable blocking schemes and produced eight pressures, Kraft caught six passes for a career-high 124 yards and a touchdown, and Nixon broke up a career-high five passes and didn’t allow a completion into his coverage during the dominant win.

Brian Baldinger, a former NFL player who now breaks down games, took a closer look at all three players on social media Friday morning.

Micah Parsons

Parsons finished with a sack and three quarterback hits. Baldinger on the “Micah Parsons Problem coming out of Thursday night: “It was one win after another, all night long…it was relentless, relentless pass-rush effort.”

More: “What a performance. The best player on the field. What a defense this team has.”

Tucker Kraft

Kraft made plays down the field and after the catch. He had a 57-yarder setting up a touchdown, gains of 15, 17 and 19 yards, and the key touchdown catch late off playaction. “The Packers passing game was fueled by the play of Tucker Kraft,” Baldinger said.

More: “Monster game last night.”

Keisean Nixon

Nixon was an eraser on Thursday night. He broke up five passes (the first Packer to do so since Jaire Alexander in 2018) and didn’t allow a completion into his coverage. From Baldinger: “The Commanders tested him last night…for all the action, he was there all night.”

More: “Keisean Nixon has been in lockdown mode the first two weeks of the season….he wins with his eyes and feet…there hasn’t been a better corner in football the first two weeks than Keisean Nixon.”
