“I’ve had some time to take perspective on the way the brand is going, and I feel that I’m kind of growing up,” designer Patricio Campillo told Fashionista in an interview a few days before his Spring 2026 show. “I’ve come to realize what has actually allowed me to create my life. And I think that’s been through repetition: The concept of repetition is really interesting to me because it’s the way you can build a habit, the way you can create advice and the way you can program yourself.”

He thought of how this concept shows up in his Mexican culture, such as with the tradition of counting beads on a rosary while reciting a prayer for each one. Eventually, the designer pondered how the theme of repetition lends itself to craftsmanship, specifically intricate weaving and knitting techniques. 

And with that, he found his starting point for Campillo’s Spring 2026 collection.

“Every collection has to be better than the last one,” he shared of the design process. “So it’s always a way to push myself and push my boundaries and push my limits as a designer and just really step up.”

The Latin designer achieved this by honing into textile manipulation. Punctuating his lineup are intricate basketweave patterns, eye-catching ruching and bold, architectural draping. He also explored new silhouettes, including pants with exaggerated side panels; sculpted, avant-garde jackets; and fluid, draped tops.

“I am always feeling like this is a Mario Kart game, where each level is a little bit more difficult, adding different elements to the race,” he explained. “I found myself in a situation where I felt really comfortable adding these layers, which isn’t something that has happened to me before. I was always pulling back a little bit and being very careful. [Now,] I’m not second-guessing myself all the time.”
