The Spring 2026 shows are underway in New York City, and so far, the street style crowd has benefited from the (mostly) gorgeous weather that’s afforded them plenty of wardrobe flexibility. It’s been warm and breezy and beautiful in Manhattan, and that’s translated to equally breezy sartorial choices. Namely: lace everything.
A slew of showgoers wore sheer dresses or skirts made entirely of the fabric, which they often offset with primly tailored collared shirts or oversized T-shirts and sneakers — both effective, if opposite, tactics for grounding the sometimes-grandmotherly material.
Other looks featured lace as a trim or incorporated gauzy bralettes peeking out from beneath cardigans and button-down shirts. In rarer cases, the material served as a key accessory, like on Coco Schiffer, who wore a billowing lace headpiece, or the two showgoers who sported tiered lace jabots (I’ll save you a Google: They’re those frilly ascot-type things judges wear).
