If you’re anything like us, you’ve been patiently counting down the days until the 77th Emmy Awards, a night when television’s biggest talents get to take home trophies representing all their hard work and impact on a global audience. This year’s Emmys are happening on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. EST, though the red carpet coverage (AKA the best and most memorable part of it all, if we’re being honest) starts at 5 p.m. EST and is hosted by E!.

On Live From E!: Countdown to the Emmys, you’ll be able to spot all your favorite actors and actresses from the past year, with a list of nominees that’s nothing but heavy-hitting. Expect to get good visuals on Pedro Pascal, Jeremy Allen White, Seth Rogen, Ayo Edebiri, Parker Posey, and beyond, with the stars ready to talk not only about their on-screen projects but also the outfits and designers they chose to go with for one of Hollywood’s biggest nights of the year.

CBS is the official broadcaster of the 2025 Emmy Awards and it will also have Emmys red carpet coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Don’t have cable? The Emmy Awards — and Emmys red carpet — are livestreaming on Paramount+ (get a free trial to watch the show for free here).

All of this will no doubt only add to the high spirits, fanfare, and emotional speeches that will grace the Emmys stage on Sunday, guided by the hosting prowess of comedian Nate Bargatze.

If last year is any indication, we’ll be privy to gorgeous, cape-bedecked gowns, Old Hollywood–inspired makeup looks, dripping diamond jewelry, and other headline-generating elements, with stars breaking down their ensembles and giving eager audiences the inside scoop. Want to tune into this iconic happening but have gone cable-free? Not to worry, as we’ve created a handy guide for how to watch E!’s coverage online. Prepare the popcorn and settle on the couch with a weighted blanket, as things are about to get juicy.

When Are the 2025 Emmy Awards Airing?

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET or 5 p.m. PT. The red carpet coverage will start three hours earlier, at 5 p.m. ET.

According to E!, “actress Bresha Webb, Happy’s Place’s Melissa Peterman, designer Christian Siriano, and style guru Zanna Roberts Rassi will discuss the night’s hottest nominees, buzziest stories, and jaw-dropping arrivals leading into the big show.” Then, at 6 p.m. EST, the commentary will switch modes, with TV host Zuri Hall and comedian Heather McMahan starting to interview Hollywood’s biggest names.

Where to Watch the 2025 Emmys Red Carpet Online

Though the awards show airs live on CBS, it will also be synchronously streamed on Paramount+, which is the official streaming home of the Emmys. You can also cut the cord and get a live CBS feed through streamers like DirecTV, Fubo, and Hulu + Live TV. This means there are no shortage of ways to sit back and enjoy the show… literally.

OFFICIAL STREAM

Paramount+

Paramount+ is the ultimate streaming destination, treating you to a front-row seat for witnessing television’s best moments — and then the awards show that celebrates those moments live. Besides streaming CBS’ red carpet interviews with your Paramount+ free trial, you can (and should) take full advantage of its other fashion-forward offerings, like RuPaul’s Drag Race.

EDITOR’s CHOICE

DirecTV

A subscription to DirecTV will not only help you stream the Emmy Awards red carpet coverage on CBS and E! but also gets you access to more than 160 other channels for its “Ultimate” plan, including Bravo, Freeform, and MTV. Use this DirecTV free trial to watch the Emmys red carpet live online free, and keep your subscription running so that you can also binge shows like the Real Housewives of Miami, America’s Got Talent, and Say Yes to the Dress.

FREE DVR

Fubo

Similarly, you can watch the Emmys with our Fubo free trial, and it also grants you added access to channels like Cinevault, Bravo, and The Design Network. The most basic Fubo plan comes with 245 channels, meaning you’ll never be bored again, whether you spend your hours judging the looks on Project Runway All Stars or are more in the headspace of Sex and the City. The free trial, meantime, includes free DVR so you can record the Emmy Awards and red carpet to watch back on-demand later.

BEST FOR ENTERTAINMENT

Hulu + Live TV

Though Hulu’s regular 30-day free trial doesn’t give you the ability to stream live events in real time (it only works for the streamer’s on-demand content), you can still grab a 3-day free trial to the streaming service’s dedicated Live TV plan. Hulu + Live TV unlocks 95 live channels, from CBS to E! to ESPN. Not a sports fan? Your subscription also includes Disney+ and channels like A&E, Freeform, and HGTV. Enjoy the Emmys, then enjoy the wider world of TV-based entertainment.

The show with the most nominations in 2025 is Severance, closely trailed by The Penguin and The White Lotus. This means you’ll have a lot to celebrate, whether you couldn’t stop thinking about Mark’s innie after the Severance season finale or have printed out Victoria’s mantra on The White Lotus Season 3 (“I just don’t think, at this age, I’m meant to live an uncomfortable life”) and pasted it on your fridge as a daily reminder.

Other moments to anticipate? Edebiri is the first black woman to receive dual nomination for both acting in and directing a comedy in the same year, and, among other historic developments, Bella Ramsey is the first non-binary person to receive multiple acting nominations at the Emmy Awards.
