Bach Mai is a couturier in the making. That’s not a statement that comes from nowhere: He’s studied the art of haute couture since he decided to pursue fashion in college and even went so far as to travel to Paris and work at Maison Margiela under John Galliano. So, it’s no surprise that, season after season, Mai’s design output comprises dramatic, high-glamour pieces with couture sensibilities.

For Spring 2026, he took a different approach: Mai reined it back and found the beauty in simplicity. 

“[I explored] this idea of this grounded glamour, this real girl — she’s glamorous, she doesn’t take herself too seriously and just has this lightness,” he told Fashionista backstage after the show.

The show notes added, “Irreverent and effusive, this is glamour that is lived in rather than rehearsed. This collection blurs the lines between common and sublime. Revealing the inner workings and the pulse beneath. The presence is undeniable — magnetism without demand. Fading away to reveal, it transfigures the everyday into the fantastical — and renders the fantastical within reach.”
