As if the fact that the Cleveland Browns are off to quite the Browns-like start to this season wasn't enough, two of their recent stars had to steal the show on Monday Night Football, too.

On one side were the Houston Texans and Nick Chubb. On the other, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield.

And when each team needed their respective former Browns standout to deliver, they did.

First it was Chubb, just before the two minute warning of the fourth quarter, with the Texans down a point.

He bounced through the right side of the line and raced all the way to the end zone for a 25-yard touchdown and a five-point lead.

Mayfield wasn't done, though. He had to spoil Chubb's party.

First came an absurd fourth-and-10 conversion, when Mayfield looked to be sacked for sure, but somehow escaped and scrambled up the field, hurdling past one tackler, to run for 15 yards and the first down.

Six plays later, Mayfield got to do the easy part, handing off to Rachaad White for a 2-yard TD.

Between Mayfield's game-saving run and the touchdown run, Mayfield completed five consecutive passes to keep the heroic drive moving.

The go-ahead touchdown came with just six seconds left on the clock, and the Texans couldn't produce a miracle.

That left Mayfield the victor in the battle of former Browns, but really it was Cleveland that was the loser.

Chubb could've been brought back this offseason as a free agent. Mayfield never had to be replaced by Deshaun Watson.

Instead, Cleveland is in the dumps and these two former stars are shining brightly in their new homes.
