Dua Lipa is the latest celebrity to hark back to a particularly naughty, noughties styling trick—say hello, once again, to the peekaboo bra trend.

The bra in all of its various forms has been enjoying a bit of a moment of late, from the bullet bras on the Miu Miu runway (and Lipa’s own British Vogue cover) to Margot Robbie’s vintage Mugler. For some reason, an encloaked version feels more cheeky and playful. Lipa—who is in New York for three evenings of her Radical Optimism show at Madison Square Garden–stepped out to appear at a fan pop-up wearing a pinstriped, sheer-sleeved white button-down shirt and a black, silky balconette bra shown beneath. She styled it with a close-fitting, layered gray pencil skirt, and mesh black shoes. The pop star accessorized with a silver and black cross chain necklace, silver chrome clutch bag, and silver bangle.

Earlier this month, Hailey Bieber celebrated Rhode’s retail expansion in New York with a selection of business-ready attire done the Hailey Bieber way: one look in particular saw her don a Tom Ford-era Saint Laurent blazer with a black embroidered bra peeking out.

Margot Robbie, on her press tour for Big Bold Beautiful Journey, opted for a high-hipped Phoebe Philo gray blazer, with a thin and wispy black bra underneath.
