Barcelona are pitted against Getafe in their next La Liga match on Sunday, September 21, at Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Following an impressive 6-0 win against Valencia in their previous game in the top flight last week, the Catalan club rank second in the table with 10 points thanks to an undefeated run in all four matches of the campaign so far.

Barcelona also extended their success to the Champions League, where they claimed a 2-1 victory in their opening match against Premier League side Newcastle United on September 18 at St. James' Park.

Getafe, meanwhile, currently rank fifth in La Liga with nine points after three wins and one loss.

Barcelona have won 16 out of 20 league matches against Getafe at home, although they have lost the other four.

Barcelona were without their teenage superstar, Lamine Yamal, in their Champions League opener earlier this week. The 18-year-old star faced discomfort that turned into a major issue during his recent international duty for Spain.

Lamine Yamal has now missed two matches for Barca due to a groin injury, and head coach Hansi Flick is unlikely to rush the winger’s return to the pitch.

Barca have Marc-Andre ter Stegen missing in action due to a back injury, while they also have Alejandro Balde sidelined with a hamstring injury, along with Gavi, who suffered a knee injury last month.

With a two-point difference in La Liga with archrivals and table-toppers Real Madrid at the start of the weekend, Flick and his players will be looking for a win against Getafe to defend their crown as reigning champions.
