Watch out, Hollywood: There is a new big-budget action flick in town!

Next month, Tron: Ares will be hitting theaters, and the sci-fi film features an A-list cast to boot (including names like Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Evan Peters, and Jared Leto). The splashy press tour for the officially began this week in Paris this week, and naturally, the cast is embracing method dressing—opting for red carpet fashions that are sleek and to mimic the feel of the movie (it’s all set in a digital realm, after all).

Nobody channeled this mood better than Turner-Smith (though Lee’s electric-violet Luar suit is also a must-see). Hitting the first photo call in the City of Light, Turner-Smith looked to Law Roach to come up with an out-of-this-world look for the occasion. She slipped into one of the wildest dresses from the spring 2024 couture season: a motherboard-inspired Schiaparelli dress, punctuated with dazzling crystals, tangled wires, micro chips, and even built-in plugs and cell phones. The star is like a walking, high-fashion cyborg.

For a regular red carpet, the avant-garde design would be striking somewhat random. But on the Tron press tour, it makes total sense. The intricate silhouette evokes the Tron world in a theatrical, unexpected way—and that is what red carpet dressing is all about, people! Plus, Jodie-Smith—ever the red carpet risk-taker—is pretty much the perfect star to pull it off. And guess what? The press tour has only just begun. If Turner-Smith is starting off this strong, we are in for a serious wild ride the next two weeks. Bring it on.
