Enzo Maresca sends message to Chelsea fans ahead of huge Brighton clash

Enzo Maresca has sent a message to Chelsea’s fans ahead of the first of three important home games before the next international break.

The Blues host Brighton on Saturday afternoon looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League having picked up just one point from their last two matches.

Chelsea have had a mixed start to the season with two wins, two draws and a defeat from their opening five games, and won’t want to lose more ground to the top teams.

The Blues face somewhat of an injury crisis for the game against the Seagulls, with Maresca having just two fit centre backs to pick from in Trevoh Chalobah and Josh Acheampong.

However, ahead of the Brighton game Maresca has called on the Chelsea supporters to help the team build momentum.

“This is the first of three consecutive home games, so your support is going to be very important for us as we try to build some momentum in the league and the Champions League,” he told the official match day programme.

“We have a strong record at Stamford Bridge but we will need you to help us to take the three points against a tough opponent.”

It’s a big run of matches for Chelsea before the international break with Jose Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday with Benfica.
