Fashion with a Message: Athleta and Kristin Juszczyk Launch Bold Bra for Breast Cancer Awareness

Athleta is turning activewear into advocacy. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in partnership with Susan G. Komen®, the nation’s leading breast cancer organization, Athleta has teamed up with designer Kristin Juszczyk to reimagine its bestselling Train Free Bra. The result? A limited-edition piece that’s equal parts functional, fashionable and fearlessly expressive.

The bra’s standout detail is the phrase “Check These Out” emblazoned across the band in pink and it goes beyond cheeky wordplay. It’s a rallying cry: encouraging women to prioritize breast health and check in with one another. With 13% of proceeds going to Komen (a symbolic nod to the 1 in 8 U.S. women who will face a breast cancer diagnosis), this piece proves that activewear can do more than support movement — it can move a message.

Juszczyk, who made waves designing custom game-day looks for NFL stars and their partners (including Taylor Swift’s much-buzzed-about Chiefs jacket), is quickly becoming a breakout name in sports-meets-style. Now, she’s channeling her signature blend of creativity and cultural savvy into something deeply personal. “I lost my mom after her courageous 18-year battle with breast cancer,” she shares. “This is more than fashion; it’s a tribute and a call to action.”

The bra’s back features three sleek white straps that intersect with a single black strap, forming a bold contrast and sculptural silhouette that delivers both style and support for medium-impact workouts. The open-back cut enhances breathability, while cross-back construction ensures a secure, stay-put fit. The band includes symbolic design elements: Kristin’s signature and the iconic pink ribbon flanking the Athleta logo. The Train Free Bra is also compatible with Athleta’s Empower Mastectomy Bra Insert, designed with a breast cancer surgeon to support women post-surgery.

Juszczyk adds, “Partnering with Athleta, a brand rooted in empowering women, has made this experience deeply meaningful. And with Athleta based in the Bay Area, a community I now proudly call home, this project feels even more special.”

At a time when breast cancer remains a leading threat to women’s health, this collaboration is a powerful call to move beyond awareness into action. It’s also a reminder of the strength that comes from community. Women showing up for each other and turning shared experience into shared power. Athleta and Kristin Juszczyk have crafted a piece that not only feels good to wear but also makes a bold statement.
