The season 2 trailer of the Netflix series ‘Starting 5’ is out now


The highly anticipated trailer for season two of the Netflix series, “Starting 5,” was released on Wednesday, featuring five of the NBA’s biggest stars.

Long time NBA players Kevin Durant and James Harden join younger stars, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Haliburton and reigning league MVP and NBA Champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The series follows each player through the 2024-25 season and the journey of trying to win a championship.

Watch Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on their journey through the season en route to winning his first league MVP, NBA title and Finals MVP all in the same season. Fans will witness Tyrese Haliburton and the underdog Indiana Pacers make an improbable run to game 7 of the NBA Finals that no one could have predicted.

Watch veteran NBA superstar Kevin Durant’s season unfold in Phoenix as the Suns struggle through his 17th year in the league. Follow James Harden from the beginning of his second NBA season with the Los Angeles Clippers and all of the ups and downs, both on and off the court.

In the first season of “Starting 5,” Netflix featured Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis and Jayson Tatum. The first season was an immediate hit which has fans ready for season two to drop on October 16.

Season two of ‘Starting 5’ drops just days before the 2025-26 NBA season gets under way on Oct. 21 with a doubleheader. Durant will debut with his new team the Houston Rockets to face off with Gilgeous-Alexander and the defending NBA Champion OKC Thunder at 7:30 p.m. ET. Then in the night cap the Golden State Warriors take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 9:00 p.m. ET. Both games will air on NBC.
