It’s another Ohio State football Saturday, and we’ll be here all day to preview different angles of the game, to bring you live coverage and reaction, and to react to what we see on the field after the game with Minnesota.
One thing we always like to do is ask our Buckeyes Wire staff members to predict the outcome of the game each week, and so far, we’ve been really, really good at it. Of course, that’s because Ohio State hasn’t lost a game yet and every member of the staff has picked the Buckeyes to win each week, but even the score predictions have been pretty good.
So, here we go again. How do Phil, Mark, Yesh, and Griffin think things will play out between the Buckeyes and Golden Gophers? Here’s what each one says.
Phil Harrison, Lead Writer/Editor
At some point, the Ohio State defense is going to have a little bit of a letdown. It simply can’t keep playing at the high level it has, right? The defense will still play fantastically, but the story of this one will be the coaching staff finally letting the leash off of quarterback Julian Sayin to build for the future. Ohio State wins big, but might not cover.
Score Prediction: Ohio State 31, Minnesota 10

The Golden Gophers may be 3-1, but this is not a great football team. Ohio State, on the other hand, is. It’s hard to see a scenario where Minnesota keeps this close. The Buckeyes cruise to an easy victory in the ‘Shoe, setting up a top 25 showdown with Illinois next week.
Score Prediction: Ohio State 48, Minnesota 7

There is nothing Minnesota can do to trouble Ohio State. The Buckeyes will dominate the trenches on both sides of the ball, taking away everything Minnesota can do. This won’t be pretty for the Golden Gophers.
Score Prediction: Ohio State 45, Minnesota 6

I suspect the Gophers to challenge Sayin more through the air in this one, but the Buckeyes are up for the challenge. OSU’s defense stifles Minnesota’s offensive attack and gets another win.
