Italy star Riccardo Calafiori helped Arsenal to another clean sheet in the Premier League, while Sandro Tonali, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie also celebrated victories in the English top flight over the weekend.
Here is how the Italy internationals in the Premier League got on this weekend.
Italy stars in Premier League: Wins for Calafiori, Donnarumma, Tonali, Udogie and Vicario
Calafiori has started every Premier League game of the 2025-26 campaign at left-back for Arsenal, and helped his side to their fourth clean sheet from seven league matches with their 2-0 win over West Ham at The Emirates on Saturday.
Calafiori and The Gunners currently sit alone at the top of the Premier League standings after this weekend’s fixtures, with 16 points from their first seven matches of the campaign.
Donnarumma kept his second Premier League clean sheet since joining Manchester City from PSG earlier this summer. The Italy captain was part of Pep Guardiola’s side that inflicted a 1-0 defeat upon Brentford on Sunday.

Italy duo Udogie and Vicario were also victorious over the weekend. Their Tottenham side rose to a 2-1 victory over Leeds United, who did not include Wilfried Gnonto in their matchday squad.

Both players, like Calafiori, will now head over to Italy to team up with the rest of the Azzurri squad for October’s international fixtures against Estonia and Israel.
Sandro Tonali will also be joining them. He is fresh off the back of a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in what was Newcastle’s second victory of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Tonali has played for every minute in eight out of Newcastle’s nine competitive matches so far this term.

The weekend was less favourable for Federico Chiesa and Liverpool, who fell to a 2-1 defeat against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Chiesa remained an unused substitute, while Giovanni Leoni sat out with his unfortunate knee injury.
Michael Kayode played for the full 90 minutes as Brentford fell to a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City.
Diego Coppola was again an unused substitute for Brighton during their 1-1 draw with struggling Wolves. He has played for just 16 minutes in the Premier League since leaving Hellas Verona this summer.
