Di Gennaro claims ‘Inter Milan are the strongest in the league’

Antonio Di Gennaro insists that Inter Milan are head and shoulders above the rest of Serie A despite their current position in the table.

Speaking to TMW Radio via FCInterNews, Di Gennaro believes the Nerazzurri are superior to all other Italian teams.

Despite sitting fourth after the opening six rounds, Inter showed significant signs of resurgence before the international break.

Back on track after back-to-back league defeats in early September, they’ve won five successive games in all competitions.

Furthermore, new manager Cristian Chivu has instilled renewed confidence and determination in his squad.

Indeed, Chivu’s men have hit their stride after losing to Juventus, netting at least twice in all five competitive matches.

Cremonese were the last team to fall victim to Inter’s newfound scoring prowess.

Ange-Yoan Bonny ran the show as the Nerazzurri cruised to a dominant 4-1 home win on Saturday.

Therefore, they entered the international break only three points shy of joint-leaders Napoli and Roma.

Di Gennaro believes Inter look hungrier under Chivu than they did under Simone Inzaghi during the previous season.

“Inter is the strongest team in the league,” Di Gennaro admitted. “Physically, they are different from last year – they’re having fun.”

Moreover, he views newcomers Francesco Acerbi and Bonny as upgrades on Inter’s former backup strikers.

Indeed, Marko Arnautovic, Mehdi Taremi, and Joaquin Correa failed to live up to expectations last season.

Therefore, the club severed ties with all three during the summer.

Meanwhile, Esposito returned from a successful loan spell at Spezia. Furthermore, Chivu secured Bonny’s arrival from Parma to bolster his attacking options.

“And they have a very strong attack, with Bonny and Esposito arriving,” he added. “I watched them all again against Cremonese.

“It’s a strong team, with the same drive and aggression as before.

“At 4-0, I saw Lautaro recover a ball with monstrous determination. It shows that the coach has also given a different stimulus.”
