Gap Is Giving the Girls What They Want: A Sandy Liang Collab

After successful designer partnerships with the likes of Dôen, Cult Gaia and more, Gap has found its latest collaborator in Gen Z-beloved, New York-based Sandy Liang.

On Oct. 10 at 9:00 a.m. ET, the two brands will launch their 21-piece womenswear collection (in addition to a four-piece GapBaby capsule), made up of classic wardrobe staples adorned with cutesy details pulled from Liang’s signature girlish aesthetic, including — of course — plenty of bows.

“Growing up, Gap was the pinnacle of fashion. It’s incredible that I get to co-create with such an iconic brand that I treasured so much as a child, yet is still so relevant today,” Liang said in a press release. To promote the drop, Gap will also release a short film inspired by the designer’s childhood memories of the brand, titled “Sandy’s Dream Closet.”

“‘Sandy’s Dream Closet’ illustrates how wearing Gap made me feel growing up as I imagined being an adult one day and who I could be,” Liang added. “I wanted to take the pieces that meant something to me as a kid and reimagine them through my lens today — celebrating girlhood in all its forms, while honoring the iconic styles that make Gap so timeless.”

The hero piece in the lineup is a very “business in the front, party in the back” trench coat. At first glance, it looks like your average khaki-colored outerwear; but on the back, it features a giant bow that stretches across the shoulder blades, with its excess “ribbon” cascading down the length of the garment.

Another clear standout is a pair of bright-blue straight-leg jeans that bear an obvious resemblance to a pair shown on Liang’s Spring 2025 runway. While the latter features tan-stitched bows on both back pockets (and retails for $450), Gap’s version includes just one bow on the back right pocket for only $108.

Other highlights include faux fur-trimmed hoodies and trucker jackets, baby-blue and -pink Peter Pan-collar blouses, lace-trimmed techwear and “Bambi”-inspired half-zips. The lineup will be available to shop on Gap.com and select Gap stores, as well as the flagship Sandy Liang shop in Manhattan.

Keep scrolling to see all the pieces from Sandy Liang’s Gap collaboration (with prices), and be sure to come back on Oct. 10 at 9:00 a.m. ET to shop everything before it inevitably sells out.
