Donatella Versace Helms the Jury of the Latin American Fashion Awards

The Latin American Fashion Awards has named Donatella Versace as president of the jury for their second edition, taking place Nov. 6-9.

She follows Haider Ackermann who led the jury for the inaugural edition.

Versace will join forces with the Latin American Fashion awards to honor and champion the most visionary designers, artists and cultural innovators from across Latin America and its global diaspora.

“I have always championed the next generation of design talent. It has never been more important to support and encourage our global creative community, and I am honored to be president of the Latin American Fashion Awards,” said Versace.

Versace will preside over a jury that include Nina Garcia, editor in chief of Elle U.S.; Anna Dello Russo, Italian journalist and fashion editor; Carmen Busquets, entrepreneur and philanthropist; Imran Amed, founder and chief executive officer of Business of Fashion; Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA; Carlo Capasa, president of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana; Kean Etro, former creative director of Etro; Sara Sozzani Maino, creative director at Fondazione Sozzani; Vivian Sotocorno, fashion director of Vogue Brazil; Gabriela Hearst, designer of her own label; Zelika Garcia, founder and director of Zsonamaco, Latin America’s foremost art and design fair; Karla Martinez de Salas, head of editorial content at Vogue Mexico and Latin America; Alessia Glaviano, head of global photo Vogue; Oskar Metsavaht, founder and director of Osklen and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainability, and Carlos Nazario, style director at large at Harper’s Bazaar.

Versace has been the visionary force behind the house of Versace from 1997 to 2025. In March, she transitioned to the role of chief brand ambassador.

Her work has continually pushed boundaries and embraced inclusivity, and throughout her career she has collaborated with supermodels, musicians, artists and activists.

Founded by Constanza Cavalli Etro and Silvia Arguello, the awards have become a global platform for Latin creatives. The winners will be revealed during the four-day celebration in November in the Dominican Republic.

Beyond their recognition, all award recipients will be invited to take part in a dedicated growth program hosted during Milan Fashion Week in September 2026. The awards’ theme for this edition is Hot by Heritage, which pays tribute to the richness, resilience and strength of Latin American culture.
