Amanda Seyfried Channels ’60s Glam in Richard Quinn to London Festival

Amanda Seyfried opted for classic black and white dressing in Richard Quinn for her “The Testament of Ann Lee” screening during the London Film Festival on Saturday.

For the red carpet occasion, the Oscar-nominated “Mank” actress turned to Quinn’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The strapless dress featured a black velvety overlay atop a tulle and satin white fabric. The bodice of the dress included a layered white base fabric beneath the black velvet, with a black bow and white rosette at the center.

The bodice included a fitted silhouette with a cinched waist for added definition, which transitioned to a flowing skirt. White tulle fabric peeked through the black velvet skirt due to a front slit that went all the way from the waist to the hem.

Seyfried wore a pair of peep-toe black pumps by Aquazzura and accessorized her look with jewelry courtesy of Tiffany & Co. As for her glam, Seyfried’s makeup artist Sasha O’Neill favored a clean look with lined brows, bold eyes and a soft glossy lip. Her blond hair was styled with a middle part and worn straight and down by London-based hair stylist Dayaruci. Seyfried’s London Film Festival Look was curated by stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who’s also worked with Cate Blanchett and Julia Roberts, among others.

Richard Quinn’s fall 2025 collection made its runway debut as part of London Fashion Week in February. “The designer said he wanted to capture that fleeting moment of calm before a woman steps out the door on her way to the ball, event or just a grand night out,” Samantha Conti wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

Seyfried’s London Film Festival dress was the first from the collection to hit the runway, described by Conti as a “black-and-white prom style” dress. “Quinn played with two — and three — tone looks” throughout the collection, Conti noted, and referenced the styles and silhouettes of past decades.

“The designer indulged his love of the ’60s, sending out embellished trapeze styles and dressing an iconic face of the era, 75-year-old Penelope Tree, in a snappy, sparkling shirtdress, black tights and flats, because sometimes less is more,” Conti wrote.

“The Testament of Ann Lee,” based on the story of Shaker Movement leader Ann Lee, played by Amanda Seyfried, is one of several high-profile films featured at the 2025 edition of the BFI London Film Festival, which kicked off on Wednesday and concludes on Oct. 19. Films vying for awards consideration will screen and debut at the festival, which marks its 69th anniversary with the 2025 iteration.
