From Janice from Friends and Joan Collins, to Eastenders star Pat Butcher and Kate Moss, leopard print has been worn by a multitude of women–and in a multitude of ways–over the decades. For some, it will always be synonymous with a certain sort of femme fatale figure, all red-painted talons and Cruella De Vil sass, but thanks to the likes of Jil Sander, Dolce & Gabbana, and Alaïa, the print has been elevated to the lofty heights of ultra-luxury fashion and, in turn, become a uniform of some of history’s most stylish women.
Vogue’s Coveted Leopard-Print Staples
And while leopard print boasts a timelessness and print neutrality that not many other trends can claim, it’s clear that we’re experiencing a particular animalistic moment in fashion this season. Recently, I was sitting in the Condé Nast cafeteria and counted not one, but five pairs of leopard-print jeans roaming the floor. It really is inescapable.

Of course, it’s unlikely that we will be replacing our trusty white T-shirt with a leopard iteration any time soon, but a pop of animal print is an easy way to add interest and playfulness to your wardrobe, whatever the season. The question is, how are the fashion crowd–and specifically the Vogue editors–wearing leopard print for fall/winter 2025? The secret to creating a unique look lies in the archives, and the runways.

The ’90s and Noughties are certainly ripe for the picking when it comes to leopard-print inspiration. For an entry-point ensemble, we recommend investing in a leopard-print accessory– be it a bag, a shoe, or a scarf–as it’s a failsafe way to liven up your wardrobe basics. Kate Moss’s iconic airport ensemble from 1994 is the ultimate reference point. Leopard-print outerwear is also a no-brainer, especially when paired with pared-back separates–see a ’90s Gwyneth Paltrow, who was a big fan of using black as a minimalist counterpoint to the vibrant animal print. For more modern interpretations, we’re looking to Khaite, Toteme, Co, and Aläia’s catwalk.

The Leopard-Print Jacket
As the weather chills, black and camel coats are an everyday staple, necessary for survival. Take it beyond the realm of function-only and add some pattern (spice!) to your cold-weather wardrobe with Nour Hammour’s calf-hair, leopard-print coat. Wear it atop transitional pieces, like Dries Van Noten’s poplin shirt and Cos’s fluid trousers.
The Leopard-Print Boot
The key to modernizing the leopard-print boot? Pair it with luxe, minimalist separates that let the boot do all the talking. Nour Hammour’s leather Drey jacket layers effortlessly over Toteme’s draped blouse, while Loulou de Saison’s calf-hair midiskirt adds just the right amount of texture.
The Leopard-Print Bag
Not ready to venture into the jungle just yet? Enter, the leopard-print carryall bag. It offers a subtle pop without being all-compassing, or overwhelming. Use Saint Laurent’s slouchy bucket bag as the standout detail in an otherwise classic ensemble.
The Leopard-Print Pants
There are a few statement-making pants that rivaled the classic blue jean this season, from balloon pants to barrel-leg silhouettes. The secret to their popularity lies in versatility—anyone can wear these playful trousers, to any occasion! Add leopard-print into that rotation with Coach’s spotted pair.
The Leopard-Print Blazer
Equal parts fierce and ladylike, the leopard-print blazer is the ultimate cold-weather power move. Layer one over a sleek black dress for an evening out, or pair it with tailored trousers and a neat white button-up for an edgy workwear ensemble. Ankle boots complete the picture.
The Leopard-Print Loafer
If you’re on the hunt for a statement shoe that can refresh your entire wardrobe, you’ve come to the right place. Leopard print loafers can turn the simple into the polished and playful. There are plenty of ways to style the loafer for fall (and winter), whether it’s toughening up a knitted dress, or grounding a cape and cardigan combo—the results are always a winner.
