If croc, pony hair and snakeskin aren’t your thing, perhaps this glitzy new Adidas Samba is more suitable. 

An upcoming Adidas Samba slated to be released during holiday 2025 dresses the shoe in a bold rhinestone-covered black-and-silver look. It’s hardly the first ostentatious look for the model, but it may take the crown as the Samba’s shiniest style yet. While the colorway itself is relatively tame, the hundreds of rhinestone crystals that cover the traditionally leather upper are anything but.

Official product images of the rhinestone sneaker have surfaced in Core Black, but considering the way Adidas has been introducing new Samba styles on a near-weekly basis, it’s possible the brand could have even more looks on the way for the crystal-covered classic.

Similar to Nike’s numerous Swarovski link-ups, the upcoming Samba is completely covered in glittery rhinestones which illuminate even more with light. Here, Adidas appears to have done the bedazzling in-house, as there’s no overt Swarovski — or otherwise — co-branding.

Given the intricacy of the rhinestone detailing, it’s likely that this Samba will come with a premium price tag higher than Adidas’ standard $100 versions of the model. However, retail pricing for the upcoming pair has not yet been confirmed.

Although it’s cooled off a bit since it was named Shoe of the Year at the 2023 FN Achievement Awards, it would be shortsighted to count the Samba out completely. Whether it’s at the top of the trend cycle or not, it’s the sort of timeless sneaker that’s more of a sartorial staple than it is a fad.

Some of ’25’s most notable Samba spins include cracked metallic leather and shoe charm-adorned styles. The silhouette has also been a popular choice for collaborations, releasing in new looks through partnerships with Bape, Clipse, Disney and Jeremy Scott, among others.
