What the Buyers Are Buying From the Spring 2026 Runways

The reviews are already in from the Spring 2026 collections shown across New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks. And where critics might have focused on topics like ingenuity, showmanship and whether or not designers respect women; buyers have one primary concern: What will sell next spring?

Now more than ever, retailers must make sure they understand their customers’ preferences and lifestyles. And based on their comments for our latest edition of What the Buyers Are Buying, this was very much top of mind: Factors like versatility, wide appeal and whether something would “resonate” were mentioned frequently.

That’s not to say there wasn’t an appreciation for newness: This season’s many creative director debuts rank highly among their picks, including Jonathan Anderson at Dior, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at Loewe, Nicholas Aburn at Area and Louise Trotter at Bottega Veneta. Speaking of Trotter, female designers are well-represented within their selections as well, including emerging names like Colleen Allen and Kallmeyer.

Peruse the galleries below to see what designer womenswear buyers are buying from the Spring 2026 collections, from Net-a-Porter’s new Chief Buying and Merchandising Officer Brigitte Chartrand, to the owners of small-yet-influential boutiques like Hampden Clothing and Elyse Walker.

Lanvin: “The cape-detailed blouse with its contrasting neck tie strikes that rare balance between stylish and wearable. With shorts dominating the runways this season, this ensemble achieves an elevated, dressy feel while maintaining an effortless chicness that never feels overdone.”

Courtney Grant, SVP of buying, Elyse Walker

Bottega Veneta: “Under Louise Trotter’s direction, the updated clutches and elongated silhouettes felt both refined and decidedly feminine. The tassel clutch was my standout handbag of the season — elegant, sculptural and exactly the kind of piece our customer will gravitate toward.”

Jim Wetzel, Co-Founder, Space 519

Carven: “There was definitely a strong showing of sheerness, especially in skirts. The illusion of a mini length, but with an overlay makes the trend easier for many to wear. It becomes fun with a slight nod to sexiness. Where we have seen the best version for Space 519 was with this playful version at Carven.”
