Kristen Stewart brought streamlined French style sensibility to Chanel at the premiere of her feature-length directorial debut “The Chronology of Water” at the London Film Festival on Thursday.
For the special occasion, Stewart opted for a black and white dress from the French luxury fashion house. Styled by Tara Swennen, Stewart’s Chanel minidress featured a soft fabric in crisp white with black outline.

While the body of the dress maintained the white tone, the neckline, straps, hem and two symmetrical hip pockets featured black fabric for added color contrast. The simple piece was coordinated with a pair of black heels, preserving the overall look’s uniformity.
As for accessories, Stewart added a silver chain necklace to her ensemble with a small padlock motif. Her brunette hair was styled with a shaggy aesthetic with fringe to frame her face. Makeup highlights included bold brows and a smokey and lined eye.

It comes as little surprise that Stewart gravitated to more Chanel designs over the course of her feature-length directorial debut festival run. The Oscar-nominated “Spencer” star has been an ambassador to the French luxury fashion house since 2013, starring in such campaigns as the photo spread for Chanel’s spring 2020 collection, captured by photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
Stewart also served as the face of Gabrielle Chanel Perfume beginning in 2017. Apart from Stewart, Chanel’s ambassadors include Tilda Swinton, Lupita Nyong’o and more. Nicole Kidman recently reunited with the French luxury fashion house as an ambassador, returning to the maison more than two decades after she starred in a campaign for Chanel’s No.5 fragrance directed by Baz Luhrmann.
