Stars Let Their Hair Down at Cartier’s Academy Gala After-Party

As the fifth annual Academy Gala —honoring Penélope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bowen Yang and Bruce Springsteen—wrapped up at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Saturday night, over on Sunset, the party was just getting started.

Ensuring stars got the mileage out of their red carpet outfits, Cartier had taken over Bar Marmont at the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel for the inaugural late night gala after-party. Inside, the already chic space had been fully Cartier-ified for the occasion. Silver trays appeared loaded with mini bottles of the house’s cuvee brut champagne and tables were adorned with ashtrays, napkins, and matchbooks—all bearing the distinctive typography and scarlet red hue.

Actress Kaitlyn Dever was the first to arrive, joined soon after by Maude Apatow and Archie Madekwe, who settled into a booth with Cartier ambassador Jacob Elordi. Across the room, Anna Kendrick was capturing selfies in the mirrors, while Sebastian Stan and Annabelle Wallis claimed a table on the outdoor terrace, still buzzing after Springsteen’s performance.

As trays of caviar-topped potato chips, quail eggs, and mini lobster rolls circulated the room as Jenna Ortega, in a daring metallic bodice by Grace Ling, arrived arm-in-arm with Mikey Madison. Tyriq Withers and Chase Infiniti, who slipped seamlessly into the crowd, were also part of the cohort representing young Hollywood. As for the OGs, a dapper Jeff Goldblum and his wife Emilie Livingston reminisced about their decade-old wedding at the hotel, while soaking in the scene.

As midnight struck, the party reached a crescendo when Chaka Khan took to the stage for a surprise performance. During a rendition of her anthems, young chanteuses Rachel Zegler and Olivia Rodrigo owned the dance floor, while Tom Blyth and Louis Partridge acted as the quintessential hype men.

If the gala celebrated Hollywood icons, the Cartier after-party belonged to the next generation—glamorous, confident, and completely at home in the spotlight.
