At the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, the Spring 2026 Runway Ruled the Red Carpet

Last night, at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, stars and their stylists chose to take direct cues from the recent spring 2026 runways.

Danielle Goldberg must have been straight on the phone to Chanel’s Matthieu Blazy following his Paris Fashion Week debut just weeks ago to secure the preferred look for newly minted house ambassador, Ayo Edebiri. (Inspired by look 9 in the line-up, made custom with a sheer white top instead of the pale pink runway version). Goldberg also, of course, styled Kendall Jenner in her all-time favorite, The Row, which Jenner saw first hand sitting front row at PFW.

Paris’s runway collections continued to abound across the stars of the night: Monica Barbaro looked chic in a bubble-hemmed and bow-adorned dress from Jonathan Anderson’s Dior, while Rebecca Hall committed to the fun and fantasy of Thom Browne’s wildly entertaining spring 2026 collection in a sculptural watercolor bustier. Zoë Kravitz swathed herself in a look from the final act of Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent show, which moved from sexy leather trenches, pencil skirts, and power shoulders into the flowing pussy-bow blouses and jewel-toned ruffles that caught Kravitz’s eye.

Emily Ratajkowski also wore one of the more parred back looks from Duran Lantink’s Jean Paul Gaultier debut, while Elle Fanning and stylist Samantha McMillen pulled a pink t-shirt and red feather skirt that came straight from the Balenciaga runway. Then came Tessa Thompson, in a butter yellow Balenciaga tea dress from later in the spring 2026 order, and Naomi Watts in an icy blue, feather-hemmed look. It’s safe to say Pierpaolo Piccioli’s stunning comeback to fashion with his debut Balenciaga show has captivated the celebrity hearts and minds. Vive la France, vive la spring 2026!

Then stylist Jared Eng looked past Paris, and to Madrid, to pull a black cut-out Carolina Herrera gown for Joey King. Karla Welch did the same for Michelle Monaghan, in another C.H. number. While King opted for more of an understated, sexy LBD, Monaghan delighted in the maximal, floral-studded side of Herrera’s spring 2026 show.

Studying runways from closer to home was Jenna Ortega and her stylist Enrique Melendez. Still very much in keeping with Ortega’s well established goth glam aesthetic, Ortega opted for a warped silver breastplate and chocolate brown skirt from New York designer Grace Ling, the first look from her captivating, sensual NYFW spring 2026 show.
