Spooky season lovers, get ready: Guillermo del Toro’s new film adaption of Frankenstein is soon upon us. Starring Jacob Elordi (as the titular monster), Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth, the star-studded blockbuster serves as a poetic reimagining of the classic 1818 Mary Shelley novel, and releases on Netflix November 7. Ahead of its debut, the A-list cast has been busy promoting the movie on an international press tour. While Elordi has served up plenty of slick Bottega Veneta suits, it’s Goth’s haunting-yet-beautiful looks that are standing out on the red carpet.
Working with stylist Jamie Mizrahi, Goth is doing a subtle take on method dressing, leaning into Frankenstein‘s dark romanticism with moody looks. And in custom Dior and Connor Ives designs, Goth is proving that she’s ready to graduate from scream queen to full-on movie star.
Her winning style streak began back in August, when Frankenstein made its debut at the Venice Film Festival. Goth was one of the first stars to wear Dior by Jonathan Anderson, slipping into a silky chocolate-brown gown with ruching in all the right places. Around her neck? A showstopping archival necklace from Tiffany & Co. (she is a face for the jewelry label) from 1999, set in gold, platinum, diamonds, and emeralds. A few weeks later, Goth attended the Toronto Film Festival in a white Nina Ricci halter gown with a black waistband—a more ethereal dress, paired with an archival Tiffany & Co. necklace in gold with amethysts from the late 1800s.
As the press tour has continued to evolve, the ensembles have only elevated. There was the black lace Dior mini dress she wore in LA, and the fully-embroidered, navy, floor-length Giorgio Armani gown in Paris. Much like the exquisite fashions her character Elizabeth Lavenza sports in the film (thanks to costume designer Kate Hawley), Goth has leaned into regality.
