Clemson’s Cade Klubnik Predicted to Replace $230 Million QB in Early 2026 Mock Draft

Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik put his name on the map with a strong 2024 season. After a disappointing 2023 campaign, he entered last year facing a lot of pressure.

Heading into the upcoming 2025 college football campaign, Klubnik has been viewed as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate. He’s also a player that NFL teams are keeping a close eye on as a potential target in the 2026 NFL draft.

Throughout the course of last season, Klubnik completed 63.4% of his pass attempts for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions. On the ground, he picked up an additional 463 yards and seven more touchdowns.

His production has him buzzing as a player to watch this year.

Todd McShay has released a new top-10 mock draft on X. He has the Cleveland Browns scooping up Klubnik with the No. 5 overall pick, even though the team drafted both Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in this year’s draft.

Klubnik was the third quarterback drafted in McShay’s mock draft. Garrett Nussmeier from LSU went No. 1 overall to the New York Jets, while LaNorris Sellers went No. 4 overall to the Los Angeles Rams.

If this scenario were to happen, the Browns would be in a horrible position. That would mean neither Gabriel or Sanders panned out from this draft class.

Cleveland could simply view Klubnik as a higher upside quarterback, but it would be a strong sign that the team’s current management has not done its job during the 2025 offseason.

Of course, this is a way-too-early mock draft. Things can change, but Klubnik is a player to keep a very close eye on.
