Fifteen years since hosting its first Met Gala after-party, the Boom Boom Room at The Standard, High Line continues to evolve—always glamorous, occasionally chaotic, and reliably unforgettable. There have been many bartop performances, countless Champagne towers, and, of course, one now-legendary elevator scuffle. But this year’s soirée delivered something altogether different: real dancing.
Undeterred by the rain, guests wove through a sea of umbrellas, velvet ropes, and paparazzi before ascending 18 floors above the Meatpacking District. There, inside the space formally known as The Top of The Standard—but called “Boom” by those in the know—New York’s most eccentric revelers gathered once more. Some were still keen to capture the perfect flash-lit Instagram moment, but most came with a simpler mission: to let loose.
As dancers in barely-there orange beaded skirts shimmied on tables, Daniel Lee, Chance the Rapper, and Lupita Nyong’o looked on from the club’s iconic white leather banquettes—the very same that have borne witness to more than a decade of fashion’s wildest nights. Elsewhere, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra continue to make the night a date night (they were one of many couples on the Met Gala red carpet!) following the big gala.
Then, Burna Boy took the reins. Alongside DJ Black Coffee and fellow performers Central Cee and Shaboozey, the Nigerian superstar kept the energy sky-high, blending pulsing house beats with afrofusion rhythms, including his newest single, Sweet Love.
