LONDON — JCA, the fashion and design school founded by designer-turned-professor Jimmy Choo, appointed Andrew Ginn as its chief executive officer and principal on Wednesday with immediate effect.
Ginn is a seasoned leader in the field of creative education. He began his career as a fine art photographer and later transitioned into teaching and managing programs across art, fashion and design.
Prior to joining JCA, Ginn served as associate pro vice chancellor at Coventry University, where he launched and expanded the university’s site in Dagenham, London, to host more than 2,500 students.
At the JCA, founded by the famed footwear designer in 2021, Ginn will lead a growing institution that blends fashion design with entrepreneurship across a range of programs.
“The unique selling point of JCA London Fashion Academy is to bridge the gap between industry and education through real-world experience, and our goal is to support students’ transition from higher education into entrepreneurship or employment,” Ginn said.
“This approach resonated with me personally and professionally, and as the incoming CEO, I aim to work with students, staff and key stakeholders to meet these exciting challenges in the realization of our strategic plan,” he added.
In his role as principal, he will lead the academy into its next phase, guiding its creative mission and expanding its industry partnerships.
“JCA London Fashion Academy represents a truly outstanding proposition and at this pivotal moment for the employability and skills for those in the creative sector, I’m incredibly proud and honored to serve the legacy and vision of Professor Jimmy Choo and his team of directors,” Ginn added.
JCA has two campuses, one in Hanover Square in Central London and one at Boston Manor House in Brentford, West London.
Last fall, it launched JCA Retail Gallery, an e-commerce and retail platform for students and alumni.
