Louis Vuitton and Murakami release final chapter of their collaboration
Louis Vuitton and Murakami released their third and final installment of their 20th-anniversary re-edition collection, accompanying Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2025 drop. The collaboration brings back Murakami’s signature smiling Cherry motif, and consists of more than 70 pieces, including bag charms, luggage and footwear. Upcycling solution company Losanje won the 2025 Andam Fashion Innovation Prize, awarded to innovative fashion start-ups offering technological solutions transforming the industry. Loewe’s new creative directors, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, will show their debut collection for Spring 2026 during Paris Fashion Week in October, according to WWD. Valentino unit accused of labor exploitation and placed under court administration
A Milan court has placed Valentino Bags Lab Srl, a unit under Valentino that makes branded handbags, under court administration due to continuous labor exploitation. According to the ruling reviewed by Reuters, the Italian court found the unit guilty of “subcontracting production to Chinese-owned firms in Italy that exploited workers” via 24/7 work days and a lack of safety equipment. While Valentino Bags Lab Srl faces no criminal charges, it’s held responsible for failing to oversee its suppliers. It must now implement standard supply chain tools and measures verified by an external administrator. {Reuters}
TikTok Live dominates live shopping platforms for consumer engagement
Of the live shopping platforms, TikTok Live is bringing in the most consumer engagement compared to QVC and HSN, according to Savings.com data. Facebook Live and Instagram Live are the second and third most-watched platforms, respectively. That said, though nearly 60% of the surveyed adults watch live shopping, only half are making purchases. The respondents credited this to a lack of trust, sharing they’d be more inclined to make purchases if live shopping were backed by a notable brand or platform. Other ways to convert live shopping viewers into consumers are exclusive discounts, seamless checkout and guaranteed product quality. {Retail Dive}
Front Row acquires Build in Amsterdam
Front Row, a New York-based e-commerce management agency that’s worked with Kosas and Le Mer, has acquired Shopify partner agency Build in Amsterdam. The deal’s terms have not been shared, however, both parties see this as a great opportunity to grow their brands’ commerce capabilities. “Build in Amsterdam brings best-in-class design and Shopify development,” Yuriy Boykiv, chief executive officer of Front Row, told Beauty Inc. “Together, we offer a turnkey solution that helps brands scale with creativity, consistency and speed.” {Beauty Inc./paywalled}
