Steelers and Aaron Rodgers might work out in the end

The ongoing saga of the Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers feels like it may never end. But perhaps, just perhaps, all this waiting will be worth it and the pairing will really happen and have some sort of storybook ending. This is the impression author Ian O’Connor gave when he was on 93.7 TheFan.

O’Connor is a close friend of Rodgers and the author of his biography, Out Of The Darkness: The Mystery Of Aaron Rodgers, from 2024. O’Connor said he’s willing to bet money that Rodgers will be with the Steelers by the start of mandatory minicamp

“I do think there will be a happy ending, at least for him and we will find out for the Steelers and their fan base,” O’Connor said. “If I had $100 to put down, my feeling is he will be in uniform June 10th, for the start of the mandatory minicamp.”

O’Connor went on to make a prediction about the Steelers’ season if he does sign, and I think most fans would be elated to get 11 wins and win a playoff game.

“I actually think this is, maybe me as an optimist, I think this is going to work out,” O’Connor said. “Do I think the Steelers are going to win the Super Bowl? No, but if you told me 11-6 with at least one playoff victory, the first with that franchise since 2016, I think that’s realistic. I think that this could be a success story, and certainly a worthy ending for him.”

For all that’s made of Rodgers, there’s no doubt he’s a huge upgrade over Mason Rudolph. The Steelers don’t have a loaded offense of skill position players, but if there’s a player to maximize guys like DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth, Calvin Austin, and Robert Woods, it’s Rodgers 100 times out of 100.
