Aliyah Boston Shares Funny Reaction After Going Viral Over Angel Reese Altercation

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston is getting just as much attention off the court as she is on it — and not for scoring points.

After a tense moment in Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky, Boston found herself going viral for her reaction to a heated altercation between her teammate Caitlin Clark and the Sky’s forward, Angel Reese.

The viral moment started when Clark fouled Reese hard during the third quarter of the game. Reese, clearly upset, appeared to go after Clark. But before things got out of hand, Boston stepped in between the two, trying to keep things calm. Her quick thinking helped ease the tension, but it came with a surprise: a technical foul.

“I had no idea,” Boston said, laughing during a candid interview, shared on X. “It was pretty funny to see my reactions cause I really had no idea, but it’s okay. It was something that I was like, ‘okay, well, I’ll be seeing this for a while.’ People were screenshotting me and I was like, it’s okay.”

Boston didn’t learn she had received a technical foul until after the game ended.

In a video shared by Fever reporter Scott Agness, when someone mentioned it during the press conference, her reaction was caught on camera: “Wait, what? AB got the tech? Ohhh NO!”

Both Boston and Reese were assessed technical fouls, while Clark received a flagrant one for the foul. According to WNBA rules, players are fined $200 for the first three technical fouls they receive.

Clark, who appreciated Boston stepping in, joked during the presser: “I appreciate AB having my back, I guess. I don’t even know what she did… Have fun paying that fine. I got it for you — it’s real hefty.”

While the fine may be a small hit to Boston’s WNBA salary, Clark’s promise to cover it was a small but meaningful sign of the duo’s growing bond on the Fever roster.

Boston’s expressive face and genuine confusion over her technical foul quickly became a hit online, with fans sharing memes and GIFs of her now-famous reaction.

Boston and the Fever are set to play again Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream, with fans now watching not only their game performance, but their reactions too.
