Eighteen years ago, Dana Gordon was a 16-year-old with a dream and a small jewelry collection that sold out in just 48 hours. Today, she’s the founder and designer behind Dana Rebecca Designs — a fine jewelry brand beloved by fans (including celebrities like Taylor Swift, Sydney Sweeney, Reese Witherspoon, to name a few) and women who want their everyday jewelry to tell a personal story.
With a family history in fine jewelry, Gordon’s journey began at age 16 when she debuted her first collection at two charity golf events — one supporting Children’s Brittle Bone Disease, the other, Tourette’s Syndrome. The line sold out within 48 hours, setting the stage for what would become a lifelong career.

Born into a multigenerational family of jewelers, Gordon was the first to take the leap and launch a brand under her own name. Her vision was clear: to create meaningful jewelry pieces that can be worn every day, not just saved for special occasions. “I grew up admiring my mom’s beautiful jewelry, but it was always reserved for milestones,” she tells Fashionista. “I wanted to design pieces that felt empowering and personal, jewelry that women could buy for themselves.”

That ethos struck a chord. Over the past 18 years, Dana Rebecca Designs has built a loyal following of women who return to the brand again and again to mark life’s moments, both big and small. From stackable rings to signature studs, its diamonds are known for its versatility, elegance and enduring quality. “Our jewelry is timeless, designed to be worn effortlessly, whether you’re at brunch or on the red carpet,” Gordon explains. “Each piece stands on its own but also layers beautifully, which is part of what makes it so easy to live in.”
Motherhood has only deepened Gordon’s connection to her craft, adding extra sentiment to the anniversary milestone. Her daughters, Poppy (10 years old) and Lulu (8 years old, both namesakes in the collection) have become her muses. “They’ve both been bitten by the jewelry bug,” she says fondly. “They understand the emotional connection to a piece, I love hearing what they want to wear now and what they hope to inherit one day.” Beyond design, they’ve shaped her leadership philosophy as well. “I want them to be proud of not just what we create, but how we show up for women and celebrate their stories.”

With an intent to make fine jewelry more approachable to the everyday woman, Gordon has tips for investing in fine jewelry for the first time. “Start slow and be intentional,” she suggests. “Choose pieces that resonate with you — things you’ll wear daily. Rings and bracelets are my favorite for self-celebration because you catch glimpses of them throughout the day. They serve as beautiful reminders of what you’ve accomplished or what you’re honoring.”
With fans ranging from Kristen Stewart and Kate Hudson to Naomi Watts and Emma Roberts, Dana Rebecca Designs has become a niche staple in Hollywood. And yet, Gordon’s proudest achievement is the community she’s cultivated. “It’s a privilege to be part of our customers’ lives, to know that their jewelry boxes tell stories through our pieces,” Gordon says. “That’s the heart of what we do.”
As she celebrates the anniversary and looks ahead to the future, Gordon remains focused on thoughtful growth and staying rooted in the brand’s original mission. “I’m incredibly proud of the team behind DRD, many of them have been with us for over a decade. We’ve built something that feels like family,” she says. “As we continue to evolve, our goal remains the same: to help women celebrate themselves with beautiful, meaningful jewelry that stands the test of time.”
