Commanders owner Josh Harris’ wife upsets Cowboys fans

Marjorie Harris is the wife of Washington Commanders managing partner Josh Harris. Mrs. Harris isn’t the typical sports team owner’s wife. The Harris family has an ownership stake in the Commanders, the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and Crystal Palace of the Premier League.

Marjorie Harris is extremely active in the communities of the family’s teams. Since buying the Commanders in 2023, she has attended many of the team’s community events and is the chair of the Washington Commanders Foundation.

On Monday, Mrs. Harris briefly spoke to the media at a community event in Washington, D.C, alongside members of the Commanders’ rookie class. She’s certainly excited about the NFL draft coming to D.C. in 2027. As Harris spoke about her excitement for the 2027 NFL draft, she said something that upset some Dallas Cowboys fans.

“We have so much to look forward to, and look, the Commanders are America’s Team,” Harris said with a smile. “What better place than to have the NFL Draft than in the Mall?”

Some Dallas fans sounded off in the comments because, as you know, the Cowboys have long been known as “America’s Team.” Dallas received the name in 1978 when John Facenda of NFL Films called them “America’s Team,” when narrating the Cowboys’ highlights for that season.

The Commanders were definitely a fun team in 2024, led by exciting young quarterback Jayden Daniels. General manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn did an excellent job helping the Commanders go from four wins (2023) to 12 and an appearance in the NFC championship game.

What will Washington do for an encore?

All offseason, we’ve seen Eagles fans pay more attention to Daniels than their own Super Bowl win. Now, it appears Dallas fans have found a reason to hate the Commanders again. At least Washington is relevant enough again to make them care.
