5 most important players on offense

The Seattle Seahawks made sweeping changes to their offense this offseason. New offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has been hired to install his scheme. The belief is that Kubiak’s system will lead to offensive improvement for the Seahawks in 2025.

With that in mind, we’ve identified the five most important Seahawks players on offense.

Sam Darnold, QB

The Seahawks swapped out Geno Smith for Sam Darnold at QB this offseason. Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract in free agency. The belief is that his balanced approach will lead to more consistent results offensively. John Schneider and Mike Macdonald are placing their trust in the 2024 Pro Bowl selection.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR

Jaxon Smith-Njigba broke out as a sophomore to record 100 receptions and 1,130 receiving yards last season. The former Ohio State standout enters his third campaign as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver for the first time following DK Metcalf’s trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cooper Kupp, WR

Speaking of Metcalf, Cooper Kupp was signed in free agency to help replace the outgoing pass catcher. Kupp plays a very different game from Metcalf stylistically, but he’ll be Kubiak’s top option to soak up the leftover passing-game targets. The Seahawks believe the Super Bowl LVI MVP still has something left in the tank.

Charles Cross, LT

The Seahawks recently exercised Charles Cross’ fifth-year option, keeping him under contract through at least 2026. It’s no surprise, given Cross’ consistent play as the Seahawks’ best offensive linemen. Talks could shift to a long-term extension.

Grey Zabel, LG

Schneider drafted Grey Zabel at No. 18 overall in the 2025 NFL draft. Zabel is being counted on to help upgrade an offensive line that struggled mightily throughout the 2024 campaign. His rookie-year contribution could help dictate the overall state of the O-line.
