Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall, and Jason Isaacs Go Full Bloom in Burberry at the Chelsea Flower Show

The scents of hyacinths and honeysuckle swirled with the citrusy notes of nearby Pimm’s stalls as dusk fell over London’s Chelsea Flower Show on Tuesday night. A bucolic outdoor exhibition staged by the Royal Horticultural Society every year, the show is frequented by green-fingered Brits—including King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Beckhams—who turn out to see the latest in cutting-edge garden design, plants, and floral trends.

Last night, it was also the setting of Burberry’s dinner with The Newt in Somerset, to celebrate their summer-long partnership. The storied British brand and country estate hotel co-hosted a dinner of Burberry-clad guests, including Bianca Jagger, Jennifer Saunders, Jerry Hall, and Jason Isaacs (from Koh Samui to Somerset?). Also in attendance were Anaïs Gallagher, Lennon Gallagher, Ncuti Gatwa, Sharon Horgan, Guy Remmers, and Taylor Hill. Jagger slipped into a silky floral pajama suit, while Horgan wore a pair of white slacks and a watercolor shirt. Absolutely Fabulous icon Saunders flashed the check lining of her trench to the cameras, and Isaacs and Remmers kept it slick in gray and terracotta tailoring, respectively.

Guests mingled in a room above the flower show grounds, sitting to watch the sunset with glasses of The Newt’s bubbles and cyder to the sound of a smooth live band, before settling under the forest green parasol-filled ceiling for dinner. The menu for the evening was steered by respected chef, author, and The Newt’s head of food, Gelf Alderson. The menu was a multi-sensory journey through The Newt’s commitment to a farm-to-table approach: Sourdough made from apple waste and estate radishes, tomatoes from the estate’s glasshouse slick with rhubarb salsa, freshly picked grilled asparagus with a tumble of buffalo “Waterlip” (which Alderson says jovially is like feta, but rules say you can’t call it that), and British white beef from the farm glistening with tarragon butter. The desserts reveled in The Newt’s own cyder offerings, including a beetroot, chocolate and cyder brandy torte with cyder-macerated strawberries.

Burberry’s Daniel Lee also made an appearance for the sit-down affair, fresh from launching Highgrove x Burberry: a new collection that celebrates the brand’s relationship with Highgrove Gardens, which surround the private residence of the British king and queen. The following day, many of the guests even hightailed it to the Cotswolds, checking in at Estelle Manor to continue the celebrations.
