Origin Story: Best friends Hyla Nayeri and Adrien Bettio founded 437 in 2017 from their university house at 437 Johnson Ave. The idea was sparked after studying abroad, when they noticed a lack of flattering swimwear. Post-graduation, after pursuing corporate careers, they moved back in with their parents to build 437 full-time.

Launched without outside funding, Nayeri and Bettio invested their own savings to bring 437 to life. Despite having no formal design background or a built-in audience, they embraced the challenge of building a brand from the ground up. Launch day brought only two orders, but the duo used that moment as motivation. Eighteen months later, their dedication paid off with their first sell-out moment.

Originally focused on swim and resortwear, 437 expanded into activewear three years in. Today, the brand is entirely focused on activewear, bringing the same focus to fit, function and femininity.
