Queen Letizia of Spain Welcomes Summer in Espadrilles and Floral Dress

Queen Letizia of Spain is ready for summer. The royal stepped out in a classic footwear choice for the season, while on a visit to Guadalupe on Wednesday.

Queen Letizia wore a pair of cream espadrille wedges with ankle straps during her latest royal appearance. She paired the shoes with a cream shirtdress splashed with a bright floral print.

Styling-wise, Queen Letizia wore the belted midi dress with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, and played off the blue color in it, complementing it with a cobalt leather clutch and a pair of dangling blue gemstone-topped earrings.

Queen Letizia has stepped out in espadrilles many times before. She has frequently opted to wear espadrilles while visiting Mallorca with her family, Felipe VI of Spain, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofía of Spain.

When it comes to footwear, Queen Letizia has adopted a diverse range of styles. Last May, she paired a linen suit with white sneakers for a meeting with the patronage of The Gallery of the Royal Collections in Madrid. She doubled down on that look, stepping out in another blue linen suit with white sneakers in July 2024 at the Zarzuela Palace.

Last July, she opted for another floral midi dress — a printed chiffon one by Maje — pairing it with glittery strappy sandals. She wore Crystal Pavé Strappy Slide Sandals in Ore Satin by Pedro García at the delivery of Royal offices of employment at the Zaragoza Military Academy on July 3 in Zaragoza, Spain.

While the Queen of Spain has stepped out many times for formal occasions in high heels, she has also adopted comfortable footwear in a novel way for a royal, from block-heeled sandals to chunky loafer heels and kitten-heel slingbacks.

Queen Letizia’s footwear wardrobe runs the range of casual and formal flat and heeled sandals as well, from Adolfo Dominguez, Carolina Herrera, Jack Rogers, Jimmy Choo, Magrit and Mango, among others.
